English

The present study aims to conduct a systematic review of strategies for enhancing the resilience of the Islamic banking system in the face of geopolitical and technological risks. In terms of its objective, this research is applied, and in terms of methodology, it is a descriptive–analytical study conducted using the meta-synthesis approach. To perform the meta-synthesis, the study followed the seven-step procedure proposed by Sandelowski and Barroso (2007).The study population comprised all relevant domestic and international qualitative studies published in reputable scientific databases on the resilience of the Islamic banking system in response to geopolitical and technological risks between 2000 and January 2026. Relevant studies were identified through a systematic search using the research keywords in Scopus, Web of Science, and the major Iranian scientific databases, including the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research Scientific Information Database (SID) and Noormags. Based on the analysis and synthesis of the selected studies, the final resilience model of the Islamic banking system consists of 62 concepts (open codes), 18 subcomponents (organizing themes), and 6 main components (global themes). These main components include: financial and structural resilience of the Islamic banking system; geopolitical risk management; Islamic governance and regulation; technological resilience and digital security; Islamic financial innovation and digital transformation; and social capital and the sustainability of Islamic banking. The findings indicate that Islamic banks, in order to effectively respond to emerging risks such as geopolitical crises, economic sanctions, technological disruptions, cyberattacks, and environmental changes, require the development of a comprehensive resilience framework capable of ensuring the banking system's adaptability and recovery before, during, and after crises.
