Abstract
The accounting of metaverse virtual assets (such as virtual land, non-fungible tokens, and digital artifacts) has challenged the traditional boundaries of financial reporting systems due to their dual nature—characterized by "structural intangibility" and "blockchain-based algorithmic scarcity." Consequently, this study aimed to develop a fuzzy cognitive map for accounting for these assets within a fintech framework tailored for cryptocurrency investment funds, using Citex Company in Iran as a case study. A mixed-methods (qualitative-quantitative) approach was employed. In the qualitative phase, 16 relevant indicators were identified through a review of authoritative research. In the quantitative phase, data were gathered from ten experts using a specialized causal mapping questionnaire and subsequently analyzed using FCMapper software. The analysis revealed that the volatility rate of governance tokens plays a central role in the accounting of metaverse virtual assets within this fintech-based framework for cryptocurrency investment funds at Citex.
